Pinterest decisions — live
Updated 7 Aug 2026, evening. Everything below is TRUE as of now. Closed items will not be re-raised.
☛ Needs your hands (2 things, both quick)
- Profile cover image. App-only — there is no web slot and no API. Pinterest mobile app → your profile → Edit → cover → pick a live product photo. Suggested: the Virgo coin photo already on the profile.
- One click: "Run now" on the scheduled task
pinterest-weekly-readout. Tool approvals are stored on the task, so that single click is the only way to pre-approve them. It next runs Mon 10 Aug 07:36 regardless.
Neither blocks anything. Everything else tonight is mine.
✓ Nothing is open. No credits are being bought.
The queue moved to
4 pins a day with full 3-board fan-out, which fits inside 400 with room. Extra credits are
not needed and are
not being purchased.
The tier question is closed and the credit-purchase question is now closed too.
Closed — settled, not up for discussion
CLOSED 1. Tailwind — you kept the Bundle
Bundle, $44.98/month, 400 credits. Advanced and Max are off the table and will not be shown again as a recommendation.
The working rule — 4 a day, 3 boards each
Changed 7 Aug evening. Selective fan-out is retired. Every pin now goes to 3 relevant boards.
- 1 credit = 1 scheduled pin. Saving one pin to N boards costs N credits.
- 4 pins/day × 3 boards = 12 credits/day.
- 30-day month: 120 pins → 360 credits. 31-day month: 124 pins → 372. Both fit inside 400.
- This billing period: 18 days to 25 Aug → 72 pins × 3 = 216 credits against the 272 remaining. Fits with room.
- Already-scheduled pins were charged when scheduled — publishing them costs nothing further.
Choosing the 3 boards — deliberately, never mechanically
- The most specific validated board for that product
- The head-term board it belongs under
- Whichever board is thinnest right now or seasonally rising — Libra especially, it spikes around September
SmartSchedule stays on. We are
not going back to a fixed posting grid. Live credit count is on the
main board.
ANSWERED 1b. "Would unlimited posting for a couple of months get products grounded on Pinterest?"
No — and this is not a coverage question. Record it correctly so it is not re-litigated as one.
- Coverage is already done, and free. The catalog covers all 261 products with roughly 2,844 auto-generated pins — about 99% of maximum. There is no product on Pinterest that unlimited posting would newly reach.
- The real case for unlimited is board-filling depth, not coverage. Different question, different evidence.
- Held for 30 days to see whether board depth actually moves impressions. Nothing to act on now.
RECORDED 1c. Which machine does what
| Machine | Who | Use for |
| Indigo (pink) | Kayla | All Kayla-facing browser work from now on |
| Big Computer | Kevin | Kevin's work |
| Neo | — | Holds the Pinterest OAuth callback listener on localhost:8085 |
The honest wrinkle: the Pinterest OAuth callback listens on localhost:8085 on Neo. That is why that flow has never completed from any other machine. It is recorded, not papered over — and it still does not matter, because OAuth is not on the critical path.
CLOSED 2. The five deleted boards — restoring none
Restore is a single all-or-nothing button and one of the five is the junk sandbox board zz-sandbox-isolation-test. All five held 0 pins, so none can pass a traction test, and two of the names (Cat Mom / Dog Mom) are not demand-backed. They expire. No action needed.
CLOSED 3. Website claim — VERIFIED, claimed three ways
memorythatlasts.com is claimed and verified, established
three separate ways, and it rides on the
Pinterest app inside Shopify — not on a theme meta tag.
⚠ The consequence, and it is permanent: never uninstall the Pinterest app in Shopify. The domain claim and the product catalog both ride on it. Removing the app takes down Verified Merchant status and ~2,844 catalog pins at once.
Etsy cannot be claimed on Pinterest. No such option exists — Pinterest offers website, Instagram and YouTube only. Stop looking for it.
CLOSED 4. Pinterest OAuth reconnect — NOT a blocker
All eight tokens were tested and confirmed dead on 4 Aug. The catalog has never depended on the API token — it flows through the Shopify app. Nothing on the critical path needs it. It has been removed from every blocker list. Do not chase OAuth.
CLOSED 5. additional_image_link — already done
The Shopify app is already sending it. ~2,844 catalog pins exist as a result. This is not a to-do and there is nothing to build. Do not stand up a supplemental data source.
CLOSED 6. Profile cover image — app-only, a Kayla action
No web slot, no API, no settings path. Set it in the Pinterest mobile app. Listed at the top as a task for you, not as a blocker.
CLOSED 7. Profile picture — keep it
The daisy heart is live, the account is verified, and the crop has been checked and is good. No wordmark swap. Settled.
CLOSED 8. Instagram — already claimed
Claimed to @memorythatlasts. Nothing to do.
Live constraints — do not schedule against these
DO NOT USE Cancer and Capricorn coins
The two coins carry each other's zodiac glyph on the spec card. Verified twice, against pixels, not against alt text.
Do not feature Cancer or Capricorn in any pin, any board, or any Collections pin until new Kittl artwork exists. This includes zodiac group pins and any "all 12 signs" grid.
NEVER Selecting images by alt text
On all 11 zodiac coins, image position 4 is a stainless photo whose alt text claims gold. Alt text is proven unreliable across the catalog. Every image choice must be made by looking at the image or by position verified against pixels — never by reading alt.
IMAGE RULE What may appear in a pin
- Pin images: live Shopify product photos only. No Cloudinary tiles, no collages — even if they are Kittl mockups.
- Cloudinary VIDEO is allowed and is the format most likely to break the zero-click pattern.
- Ship string is exactly "Ships within 2 to 5 days". No em dashes. Never "keepsake", "charm" or "hand-engraved". Stainless is never called "silver".
- Finishes:
Gold – 18K PVD / Rose Gold – 18K PVD / Stainless Steel - 316L Surgical Grade.
- Origin is LOCKED: "Engraved in the U.S." It is a required phrase, not a claim to be questioned. Partner facility is North Carolina — say "our partner facility in North Carolina" or nothing. Never "Made in USA" or "American-made". Engraving method is laser-engraved, never "hand-engraved".
- No hashtags. No price or shipping in description bodies. No Printify exposure anywhere.
Why the plan is what it is
The catalog is the only thing that has ever worked
- 4,760 of 5,275 impressions came from the free automatic Products catalog board (~2,844 pins)
- Catalog product groups produced 3 of our 4 outbound clicks
- Our authored, hand-scheduled pins have produced zero outbound clicks in two months — the 19 Jun report said the same thing
So we build on the catalog rather than next to it. That is what makes product groups saved to public boards, and free organic Collections pins, the priority — both are free, both are researched, neither has ever been executed.
Board naming — validated demand only
| Use | Number | Avoid | Number |
initial necklace | 8,278 searches, the only rising head term | monogram | KD 89 against 94,366 listings |
heartbeat necklace | 1,000 searches / 961 listings / KD 1 — our best ratio anywhere | pet & paw boards | dog mom necklace KD 100, tail empty |
zodiac necklace | the healthy head term | per-sign long tails | <20 searches at KD 100 |
multiple name necklace | 983 at KD 19 | 9 of 12 birth flowers | <20 searches at KD 76–91 |
zodiac coin necklace is a cheap wedge at KD 17 but went to 0 in June and July — keep it as a wedge, not as the head. Birth flower: December, November and April only. Check erank-exports/ before any fresh pull.
Structure we are copying from Caitlyn Minimalist (10m monthly views)
- 17 boards, zero empty. Her floor is 7 pins on a dormant seasonal board. That is the standard.
- Pipe prefix on every board name — the one free visual-system tic.
- One flagship scaled by SECTIONS, not by more boards:
| New Arrivals, 2.7k pins, 116 sections.
- Clean product photography, at most a small wordmark. She does not run serif headline pins — the 08-06 playbook was wrong about that and has been corrected.
Not copying: her volume, and her ~1,435-pin curation layer. Both only pay off once you already have reach.
Tonight's order of work
- Zero empty boards — fill or consolidate
- Keyword descriptions on every board
- Validated names only, pipe prefix, board order set to Custom, strongest first
- Rebuild the Tailwind queue at 4 pins/day × 3 boards — static and Cloudinary video, 7-day spacing on repeat URLs
- Trial catalog product groups saved to public boards, and free organic Collections pins
Live progress, credits used against 400, and the board-by-board table are on the
main board.
